Oral Appliance Therapy
If you display symptoms of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) such as snoring, excessive daytime sleepiness, fatigue, and pauses in breathing while you sleep, it is essential that you seek treatment.
Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) is a way to treat OSA for patients who do not tolerate other forms of treatment, such as CPAP. Oral Appliance Therapy pulls the lower jaw forward when sleeping which opens the airway.
Our sleep therapy practice serving Chandler, AZ and Tempe, AZ is here to help.
Your Valley Sleep Care Experience
Upon diagnosis by a physician, Dr. Clinger will thoroughly examine your teeth and mouth to confirm your oral health status, as well to ensure that you are dentally appropriate for an Oral Appliance. You will undergo a 2-minute mouth scan and a FDA-approved device will be constructed.
At the delivery appointment, fit will be checked and instructions given. There will be a series of adjustment visits set. You will be given a morning aligner to assure no tooth movement occurs during treatment. You will receive a follow up sleep study once optimal position is achieved. You will have two follow up visits the first year, and then annually thereafter.
